Website privacy
This notice covers the ripp.app website only. The Ripp app has its own Privacy Policy, with its Terms, Health and safety and Takedown requests pages.
Who is responsible
RIPP APP LTD (company number 17523455), 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, is the controller for this website. Contact: info@ripp.app.
What this website collects
This website has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising. Its fonts and images are served from ripp.app itself, so no page here sends anything to Google or another third party. Its one form is the waitlist, below.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, so there is nothing to consent to and no banner to show. The only page that runs third-party code is the app’s sign-in check, below, which Cloudflare says sets no cookie.
Like any website, the server that delivers these pages receives your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, so it can send the page and keep the service secure. The hosting provider, Render Services, Inc. in the United States, processes this on RIPP APP LTD’s behalf and keeps it in short-lived server logs.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, RIPP APP LTD keeps your email address and the date you joined. Nothing else: no name, and your IP address isn’t stored with it.
Why: to send you one email when the Ripp app launches. Your address isn’t used for anything else, and it isn’t sold or shared.
Legal basis: your consent, which you give by joining. You can withdraw it at any time.
Where: the form sends your address to Ripp’s server, run by Render Services, Inc. in Frankfurt, Germany, which stores it with Supabase, Inc. in Ireland. Both process it only on RIPP APP LTD’s behalf. As with any web request, Render’s logs briefly record your IP address.
How long: until the launch email is sent, then the list is deleted. If Ripp doesn’t launch, the list is deleted within 12 months of your joining.
Leaving: email info@ripp.app from that address and it’s removed straight away.
The app’s sign-in check
When you sign in to the Ripp app with your email address, the app opens ripp.app/verify/ out of sight. That page runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a script, is asking Ripp to send a code or accept a password. Most of the time you see nothing; now and then it asks you to tap a box. Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google skip this page.
What it uses: signals from your phone, such as your IP address and technical details of its connection and browser engine. Cloudflare, Inc. in the United States processes them on RIPP APP LTD’s behalf to tell people from bots, and for itself to improve that detection. It says it doesn’t use them to identify, profile or target anyone, and that this check sets no cookie. The page itself stores nothing, and RIPP APP LTD receives only a one-time pass that says the check succeeded. It lasts 5 minutes and isn’t kept.
Legal basis: RIPP APP LTD’s legitimate interest in keeping its sign-in and its emails from being abused.
The rest of what happens when you sign in, including the emails Ripp sends, is covered by the app’s Privacy Policy.
If you email
If you contact RIPP APP LTD, it uses your email address and what you write only to reply to you, and keeps the conversation for as long as needed to deal with it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by emailing info@ripp.app. RIPP APP LTD answers within one month. If you’re unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or, if you live in the EU, to your own country’s data protection authority (in Spain, aepd.es).
